Piano Tuning Service in Dallas, TX

Also Serving the Entire DFW Area

The piano is one of the most iconic and beautiful-sounding instruments of all time. However, it’s also a precision instrument that needs regular tuning and maintenance. If your piano in Dallas, TX, sounds a little off, reach out to me and I’ll be happy to help. I’ll make sure your piano quickly gets back to providing the sweet melodies it’s meant to.

How Do Pianos Get Out of Tune?

First, you need to know that more than 200 strings make up the body of the piano, and these strings are constantly under hundreds of pounds of pressure. This construction is amazing, but it’s also sensitive to movement, humidity, temperature, and other changes in the environment. These factors can adversely affect the pin block, bridge, and other internal components.

Because the strings have to be perfectly tuned in order for each note to sound right, you can normally notice when something has affected the tuning of your piano. Even when a piano is in the best environment, it will still need tuning every six to twelve months.

Why Should You Hire Me to Tune Your Piano?

I’m an experienced piano technician and tuner who provides excellent service at a fair price. I’ve been a member of the Piano Technicians Guild of America for more than 25 years and have decades of experience both playing and repairing pianos.

I have had the pleasure of tuning John Lennon’s legendary “Imagine” piano, plus I’ve been the piano tuner for multiple Grammy award winners, including:

  • The Eagles
  • Burt Bacharach
  • Chick Corea
  • McCoy Tyner
  • Bill Gather

Other clients include Ben Folds, Dr. Phil McGraw, Mark Cuban, and even the Verizon and Majestic Theaters. Additionally, I have been North Lake College’s staff piano tuner and tech for more than 20 years and the official piano tuner for the Denton Arts and Jazz Festival, the largest of its kind in Texas.

Currently, I have more than 500 satisfied residential tuning customers in the DFW area. When you contact us to schedule your piano tuning, please ask, and we will apply a new customer discount coupon good for $20 off your first piano tuning service. Please text or call me, Eric Scortia, at 972-489-5767, or email me at ScorchB3@hotmail.com to schedule a time. I look forward to hearing from you!

Recording session today at Audio Dallas in the same room where Willie Nelson recorded Blue Eyes Crying in The Rain. 🤠 We had to solder on a few loose drawbar wires, adjust the carburetor and check the oil. But after that the B-3 was running the quarter mile like a top fuel dragster! 🏎 🔥Let’s keep the music going! 🎶🎹🎶🎹🎶✌🏻

Throw back to this great gig we played in Megeve, France featuring Lance Lopez and Eric Gales on guitars!!
I’m back there playing a holy ground Hammond B-3 that was specifically pulled out of Mountain Recording Studios in Montreux, Switzerland just for this festival. The organ has a small gold plaque on it “PROPERTY OF MOUNTAIN STUDIOS, MONTEUX SWITZERLAND” This is the same Hammond B-3 featured on 6 iconic albums by Queen along with albums by Yes, Rick Wakeman, David Bowie, Elton John, The Stones, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Status Quo and Iggy Pop.
AC/DC also recorded at Mountain while this organ was in the studio!

I had the honor and pleasure to provide my 1959 Hammond B3 organ to the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas for this weekend‘s gospel extravaganza concert. First things first as I had to sanctify that well seasoned stage with a sampling of Jimmy Smith, Benny Golson and Larry Young. The symphony hall sounds incredible! My favorite concert at the Myerson was hearing Ravi Shankar several years back. The soundman Lamar told me the hardest part about mixing that concert was keeping Ravi Shankar‘s wife’s dog in his own personal doggie front row seat. They had to gaff tape the seat down because the seat wanted to automatically fold up on the dog. I’m sure many of my musician friends agree that being a professional musician is always a new adventure. You get to meet wonderful interesting creative people and show up in very cool places. It’s like improvising, so random, a lot of work but I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. What comes to mind is to get the kids or yourself in music lessons, it really is the gift that keeps on giving! I’ve NEVER met anyone that said “I’m so glad I stopped taking piano lessons.” But I’ve met at least 500 people who have said “I wish I would have continued taking those piano lessons when I was a kid.” 🎶🎹 ...
